But even with the best intentions, and planning, you end up caving into a craving, giving into a “cheat” meal...just one at first, and then a few, and before you know it, you have lost at the diet game once again, gaining back all of the weight you lost, with a few extra for "good measure."


Here’s why all diets end up failing you eventually:

Diets deprive you of nutrients you need and therefore put your body into starvation mode which slows down your metabolism.


And because your body has slowed down, you now have to eat less and less to just maintain the weight you lost.


But because you are hungry, you find yourself binging on food that you know isn’t serving you but you JUST CAN'T STOP. Especially when you are stressed...gosh how hard it is to maintain discipline on a diet when you are in full stressed out mode?!?!?!


Therefore, your body can’t trust that you will give it what it needs so it will start to hold onto any of the food you do feed it, thus causing you to gain it back.


Also, because of side effects of dieting, your metabolism becomes slower and slower, thus making it harder and harder for you to lose weight with every subsequent diet you try later.


This is why, once we get to our 40’s and beyond, it’s almost impossible to lose weight, even if we do the same kinds of diets we did when we were younger, that seemed to work.  

Here's why it's so important to figure this out:

Your body is an amazing machine that adapts to the things you have done to it, but as a result, the longer we subject ourselves to the wrong approach, the harder it is to recover.

And what’s just as scary, is what you are teaching your children, especially your daughters, about your beliefs around food, their bodies and their value being measured by the weight on the scale. Your mindsets and beliefs seep into theirs and it’s time to do better for them and for yourself.


But lucky for you, because your body is so incredible, by doing right by it now, you can reverse the state of your body’s metabolism and health.

5 Reasons You Haven’t Achieved Your Weight Loss Goals (yet!)

  • You have been tracking your calories or macros for the day: All calories (or points) are not created equal. 250 calories of buttered popcorn isn’t the same as 250 calories of hard boiled eggs and an apple.  So many people believe that keeping track of how many calories or macros we are consuming throughout a day is the answer, but it can actually sabotage our goals, not just because its hard and not sustainable, but also because our bodies need to be consistently fed throughout the day. When you count calories, your food intake is varied all day, which causes blood sugar imbalances, a slowed down metabolism and...yup, weight gain.
  • You can go all day without eating and just eat when you get home from work: Your body needs food to fuel it so it can take what it needs and then burn what it doesn’t. When you don’t feed it all day, you aren’t “saving calories” but instead requiring your body to adapt to the lack of food and as a result, when you do eat, it will hold onto it because it doesn’t know when you will feed it again. The result? A slowed down metabolism and muscle loss which will cause you to, once again, gain weight.
  • You don’t have time to meal prep: Meal prep has traditionally been taught as something that take hours on a Sunday and who has time for that? But being thoughtful about having the right types of food in our kitchen doesn’t take time, just intention.  Because you will eat what is in the house, and if it isn’t the right stuff, you will, yup, you guessed it, gain weight.
  • You think that avoiding carbs is the answer: Believe it or not, carbs aren’t the enemy! Want to know why you crave ‘em? Because your body needs ‘em! When you don’t eat them, your body then has to adjust and as a result, it actually, once again, slows down your metabolism, reduces energy and do I have to say it? You gain weight.
  • You think that if you can just stick to a diet, you can be successful: The diet industry understands that diets are meant to give you a quick win, but because of what it does to your body, they know you will gain the weight back. But that’s the point, because it keeps you coming back for more. The constant dieting, which slows down your body, will always cause you to….what??? Yeah, you are catching on...gain weight.

We have been brainwashed into doing all those things to lose weight over the years that are not meant to work.


Sure, it worked when you were younger, or when you initially started a new diet. But if they were meant to work for the long term what would happen to the billion dollar diet industry?


The key is to know how to use food to work for you, not against you. Therefore food becomes FUEL for your body so that it works with you and your goals.

Hey, I'm Carrie, a certified health and nutrition coach and a busy working mom who loved wine, carbs and hated my body. I tried to diet only for it to work and then fail, over and over. I tried to go to the gym but I found all I was losing was time and energy, not weight. So I dug in. I dug in deep and hired an unconventional coach who taught me that to get lean, you needed to eat more. It was the first time someone had told me that. I then dug in even further and started researching everything I could about how to fuel your body, not feel deprived, model healthy eating habits for kids AND crush my health goals.


And it worked.

I started eating MORE and because I was NEVER hungry anymore, I wasn’t as cranky. I actually had energy, and I didn’t NEED the coffee!


Within two weeks people at the gym asked me what I was doing because I looked leaner and it was clear I was stronger.


I did my first pull up that day.


I ended up losing 20 pounds and reduced my body fat percentage considerably over a couple of months, which was amazing but what I couldn’t get over was how much energy I had. I had NO idea how incredible my body was meant to feel!

And then, as I kept doing it, kept eating, I found that I kept losing weight and I got to the point when I didn’t want to lose anymore! My metabolism was so fast that I literally had to start eating more and more just to maintain!


Which meant I could go off plan on the weekends, or on vacation and still burn off what I was eating because my body turned into a fat burning machine!


I know that all of this sounds amazing, but as I look back on it now, what I am the most grateful for, what I am most proud of, are the new words, beliefs and mindsets that we SAY and do in my home. With my girls.  


Because through this journey my mindset changed and I realized that all the things I had been doing before, all the dieting and shaming myself, was directly impacting how my girls would feel about their bodies. They were learning from me.


I started a new narrative about food, our value as females and self-love.

And so I couldn’t keep this to myself. 
 I got my health and nutrition coach certifications and started sharing what I knew. I shared what worked for me.


And you know what? It worked for them too. All of them.


Take Nancy, my mother in law, for example, who was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and not only lost 40 pound but also had her diagnosis completely reversed. “I have done everything. I even worked for Weight Watchers but no one ever taught me what you did. I can’t believe how much more you told me to eat and how much better the results were when I did!”

Q. What makes this so different then all the other diets or programs out there?

A. Good question! We are literally the ANTI-DIET. You will learn how to eat what I call "healthy" AND "correct" and that makes all the difference. Did you see my interview with Karen (See below) the other day where she ate "healthy" before working with me and gained 25 pounds? Unfortunately, if we don't know how to eat the right foods in the right combinations at the right frequency, we aren't nourishing them the way they need, and as a result, our bodies don't do for us what we need and want.


Or how about my interview with Nicole (See below) who worked with TWELVE nutrition coaches before me and knew how to eat clean and balance her macro nutrients so thought she was eating "healthy" AND "correct" already. But when I shifted her approach with some key tweaks, it make ALL the difference and literally NO ONE had taught her this before. She not only lost more than 13 pounds in those 4 weeks but 2 months after her "launch" to a new lifestyle, her metabolism just keeps boosting. She was completely blown away.

Q. Why do I have to go through a 4 Week Detox?
A. I used to teach people without doing our 4 Week detox first and people saw progress but when I really understood the concept of how important it was to truly cleanse the toxins, addictive and acidic foods, etc from our system at the same time, my clients saw much better results, felt better and could sustain the progress. In addition, when we implement while we learn, and are coached in real time, we build habits and muscle memory that makes it STICKY. And STICKY learning results in IMPACT.

Q. Don't our bodies naturally detox itself?
A. Yes and no. Our liver definitely detoxes our bodies but the truth is, we are putting in so many toxins, preservatives and processed foods without often knowing it, that our bodies can't keep up. Just 4 days into eating clean starts to trigger a response in your body that will shock you into understanding just how much you needed this!


Q. I have so many things coming up in the next 4 weeks, what if I can't do it perfectly the entire time?
A. Listen, there will never be a perfect time to do this...and that is fine! This is called a "Lifestyle Launch" for a reason! It will literally propel you into knowing the FORMULA for a simple approach that is totally sustainable forever and is surprisingly satisfying. In fact, I travel internationally all the time and it's no problem, I have you covered!


The big goal of these 4 weeks is to commit to the journey and the coaching, to do the BEST you can and LEARN a lifestyle that will literally last you the rest of your life. Sure, these 4 weeks are POWERFUL if you can do it ALL IN, but I have very few clients who don't have a bat-sh*t crazy life and can do it totally perfectly. Q. What kinds of food will I eat and what will I have to avoid?
A. During the 4 weeks, we get to take the time to fuel our bodies with foods that truly nourish us and avoid the foods that don't serve us. We eat whole, unprocessed foods as much as possible and avoid added sugars, articifical sweeteners, foods that are acidic such as certain vinegars and coffee, and food that haas a high glycemic index as well. Gluten, soy, dairy and alcohol are avoided so we can prime our bodies for a foundation of success. Once the 4 weeks are over, we teach you how to launch into a lifestyle that may integrate these foods back in, but we teach you how to do it in a way that is systematic and intentional. Q. I am not on Facebook, how can I still get the group coaching and community?
A. Yeah, I know. Facebook is either a love it or hate it kinda thing. I LOVE it because it's really an amazing portal for groups to have a private place to hang out, support each other and learn. (I also MAAAAAYYYYY get too much of my news from FB but, I digress) The good news is that ALL the content you need to be successful during the 4 weeks is in a separate online learning portal that has nothing to do with Facebook.


HOWEVER, The private Facebook group is where my live coaching calls happen and those calls are pretty freaking awesome. It's where you can get MORE info and tips based on where you are in the 4 weeks. You can also ask questions during the coaching call. In addition, the FB page gives you access to our supportive community who knows SO MUCH about where to find great food, recipes and can offer really helpful advice 24 hours a day.

Sure!  We typically offer one group a month so click on "register now" and choose the date that works best for you!  If you want to start on a different date, choose "custom date" when you register and we will be in touch about the Monday date that works best for you!  Keep in mind, if you choose to do a custom date, you won't be with a group of people starting together, but you will still have our private membership community cheering you on!
